Summary: Jensen is a carrier, which means he can get pregnant. He wants kids, but just got out of a long relationship and doesn't want to wait for another one. Jared is his best friend who would do anything for him, Including giving him a baby.

It’s safe to say that Jared and Jensen are best friends. They had been for the past six years, ever since Jared’s sophomore year of college where he met Jensen in the LGBTS alliance group. They had never been anything more than very close friends, and sometimes joked about why they never hooked up. It just wasn’t them, they weren’t like that. They were just really close friends, and Jared would do anything for him.
This is why Jensen is sitting in Jared’s living room, drunk as a skunk with Jared who, despite his ability to speak in a thick Texan accent instead of slurring when drunk, was next to him well on his way. Jensen’s boyfriend of two years just dumped him, and this was his way of dealing, getting piss drunk with his best friend there to tell him how much of an asshole Neil Patrick Harris is.
“I really loved ‘im, ya know?” Jensen slurred, and then took another shot of jack.
“I know Jen, he was an asshole, and he didn’t deserve you at all.” This was, of course, the twelfth time Jared had repeated this, but if it was what Jensen needed to hear, Jared would say it a thousand times. He would do anything to make Jensen happy.
“I told ‘im I wanned kids. He tolme he wasn’ ready! But we were together friggen two years! I’m already 30, I wanno have kids at some point!” Jensen was on the verge of tears now, and Jared put a hand on his shoulder.
“Jen, you could always adopt a kid. I mean, I know being a single parent is hard, and they would give you a lot of crap about it, but I’m sure you could get approved somewhere.” Jensen just sighed at the suggestion.
“No Jay, I wanna have a baby of ma’ own. Imma freakin carrier Jay!” Jared’s eyes widened. In the six years of being best friends, why had Jensen never mentioned that he was a carrier?
“You’re a carrier? Why didn’t I know!?” Jensen just shrugged and giggled through his tears.
“It never really came up. You never tol me you weren’ a carrier. Your notta carrier righ’?”
Jared stared dumbfounded. “No, of course not. Wait, did Neil know you were a carrier?” Jared patted Jensen’s head in comfort and Jensen snorted sarcastically.
“ o’course. Thas why he refused to sleep with m’ withouta condom. I asked ‘im one nigh’ notto, cause we been together so long, and we know were clean. He said he didn’ wanna take the chance of geddin me pregnant. Plus, the asshat wouldn’ bottom. ‘Youra Carrier’ he says. ‘Carriers aint supposdo top.’ Whada load of shit.”Jensen sighed, and leaned into his best friend.
“I jus really want kids Jay. I thought he was gunna be the one. We were together two years. I don’ wanna wait for another relationship to last that long to have kids.” Jared hugged his friend closer, wanting to support him in any way possible.
“Well, why don’t you go to like a sperm bank or something? You know, you could have your own baby then.” Jensen thought a moment then sighed and shot it down.
“Naw, m’ not comfortable with that. I don’ think I could go through life without knowin’ who ma’ babies daddy was. ‘Sides, artifi-artificial insima-ins… I would feel lika test tube. Its not natural.”
Jared didn’t know what to do. He loved Jensen with all his heart, he really did, but he didn’t know how to help him this time.
Unless…
“How about we have a baby.”
Jensen sniffled his tears away and pulled back from their hug, staring confused.
“You’d do that for me? Jared your m’ best friend.” Jensen hugged him and he smiled.
“How’s about we start right now.” Jared smirked and Jensen pulled back and kissed him on the lips, not something they haven’t done before, but this time, it meant so much more.
